With changes Facebook made to their layout, we introduced the new page so that it will be easier for you to find out the latest & greatest on Viv such as new businesses that Viv in your area, green changes our businesses have done, and new neighborhoods Viv is in. It’s one big step to keep connected with Viv.
If you want to tell your friends and share the love, simply go to the Viv fan page to click on “Share” at the bottom-left of the Viv page. After that, just post the Page to your profile (click Share again and tap the 2nd tab) to give Viv a mention on your wall.
We have our fair share of planning to do when running a business, so I thought why not give readers a friendly heads up to plan ahead too. April 22nd each year has been designated as Earth Day. If you are not familiar with Earth Day, you can learn the basic history at Wikipedia(which is at least my go-to reference).
While most of us will be working that day, take a moment to do something environmentally friendly that day. Plan ahead and put it on your calendar or leave yourself a reminder for Wednesday the 22nd. It can be small or big– anything from recycling your afternoon Diet Coke can to asking your office manager about signing up for a recycling program. I would encourage you to do something small that you can do more than once, maybe even daily or weekly going forward. If you need suggestions, the EPA is one of many sites with a list of suggestions for being more eco-friendly at home or at the office. Remember, itty bitty steps can add up and lead to big results.
We’ve been wanting to provide ya’ll with an overview of the Viv Green Action Schedule, and I’m happy to say that this overview has now been assembled. For now, the overview takes the form of a public google document, but we’ve tried to make the document as user-friendly as possible.
This overview is meant to provide detail on the following questions: - What is a “Green Action Schedule”? - What are the components of a Green Action Schedule? - How is a Green Action Schedule chosen? - What happens once a “sticker count threshold” has been hit? - What happens once the first set of green actions are completed? - What is the comprehensive list of green actions recommended to businesses? - Where are green actions sourced from?
It is key to note that this is an overview of our current Green Action Schedule and the process we take in establishing those schedules today. That process however is far from being perfected. We’re always looking to make improvements (e.g., adding a new green action to the list or modifying the process of selecting green actions), and we’d love to have ya’ll involved in improving this process.
You’ll see a tab in the document called “Thoughts & Feedback”. We truly would love to hear directly from you re: what you think works well and what needs some work. If you have thoughts, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org – we’re always eager to learn, adjust, and improve.
